Arriving with much fanfare and anticipation, the long-awaited Inaugural Fire Pit Friday Saturday Turkey Shoot and Fire Pit is nearly upon us. The event will be held at Potter's Farm on Lentz Tree Farm Road on Saturday, 12/1/01. We will need to arrive early so as to have plenty of daylight for the festivities. We will commence to shootin' at 1500 hours (3:00 pm for you civilians).

The Steering Committee has constructed an elaborate shooting range which will accommodate up to 5 turkeys shooting at a time. The Rules Subcommittee has established a $2.00 per round entry fee, with the winner of each round taking the pot. We plan to have at least 5 rounds, or more if everyone's money holds out. The key to having the money change hands often is to not have any illegal guns like rolled goose guns, huh Darrel? If you shoot anything other than 12 gauge, you will need to bring your own #7 1/2 shot ammo. We will be happy to loan guns to those that don't have their own, so everyone can join the fun and turn loose of their money. Bring your earmuffs, if you have them. Remember, there is not much skill needed to win this game!

After the cease fire takes effect, we will have the usual bonfire, libations, vittles, and arguments about who the best shot is. Potter will provide hot dogs (I hope). Bring whatever else you want.

See you Saturday.
