Poston Road Welcomes New Principal!

We are very excited to welcome Mrs. Jill Vlcan as the new principal at Poston Road Elementary.  Mrs. Vlcan lives in Greenwood with her husband, two children, and two dogs.   She previously taught in the Center Grove Community School Corporation, where she most recently served as Assistant Principal. 

Acts of Kindness

In Room 17 this year we are promoting random acts of kindness.  Please visit the Blueberry Watch page on this site to hear about Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed, which is the inspiration for our Blueberry Watch campaign.  Check out the Podcast page later in the year to hear stories from our students.

Homework Policy in Room 17

The majority of homework assigned to students in Room 17 will be reading and spelling.  Students are expected to read for 10 minutes five times each week.  You pick the days and times according to your family schedules.  Times are recorded on a reading log which is due each Monday and is treated as homework meaning logs not returned result in a pillar punch.  Students will also be required to study their weekly spelling words at home and will choose from a variety of activities to aid their study.
