Leadership Academy Director

Coach Nolting is entering his 3rd season with the Artesians as the Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach.  He is also the founder and Co-Director of the Martinsville Football Leadership Academy and the Throwing Coach for Track and Field.    

Before coming to Martinsville, Coach Nolting attended Anderson University where he was a 4 year letterman in football, a 4 year letterman in track and field, a Division III National Qualifier in the hammer throw (2005), and a member of 5 Conference Championship Teams (Track and Field 2001-2005) (Football 2001). He teaches World History at Martinsville High School and resides in Martinsville with his wife Lexie

Graduated from the University of Saint Francis in 2002 where he also played football and lettered for 3 years.

Brad Rose

Defensive Coordinator/Safeties

1st Season as an Artesian.

Coach Rose is a 1999 graduate of Perry Meridian High School.  After high school, Coach Rose played college football at Tri-State University and Franklin College before graduating from Indiana University in May of 2004 with a degree in Kinesiology.

After College Coach Rose began his coaching career at Perry Meridian were he coached wide receivers and helped with defensive backs.  Shortly after the season Coach Rose moved to Kathleen High School in Lakeland Florida to coach defensive backs and teach special education.  The next season Coach Rose was promoted to Defensive coordinator.  during the two season Coach Rose was at Kathleen, they had back to back District Championship and Regional Finalist.  They had a 18-6 record over 2 seasons.

The following spring, Coach Rose went to Lakeland High School to coach defensive backs.

In the summer of 2007 Coach Rose moved back home to coach defensive backs at Warren Central where they were MIC conference champs.

Coach Rose lives in Greenwood with his wife Christina and two dogs.  Christina is a assistant volleyball coach at Roncalli and teaches at Perry Meridian.

  • Played Football at Decatur Central H.S. and was MVP and Captain of the team.

Jeff Haggard

Kickers, Assitant Offensvie/Defensive Line

Kickers, Assist with Offense/Defensive Line.

Coach Haggard played offensive line and graduated from Mooresville High School.   He also played at Hanover College.  Over the last 20 years he have been very active in the Martinsville community, coaching and assisting in basketball soccer and football in the little league programs.  He married his wife Candi after meeting at Hanover College.   He has two children Jessica a senior at MHS who plays soccer and Matthew a freshman at MHS who plays football.

Coach Shields will be starting his 2nd  year as  linebacker coach.   Most recently he has coached at East Middle School while running the family business.   He left coaching to run the family business and move back to Martinsville where he coached flag football, junior league football and Middle School football.  He currently lives in Martinsville with his wife Karen and 2 children, Beau (freshman) and Alyxa (7th grada).

John Elliott

Freshman Head Coach

  • 1985 MHS Graduate

John is a MHS graduate and also graduated from A.B.C. Apprentice School in 1993. He owns E & E Wiring.  He is currently Martinsville City Superintendent.  He has coached football for 21 years and 8 of those have been at MHS.  He is a former Artesian DB & TE.

Randy McKinney

Freshmen Assistant.

Randy is currently teaching Social Studies at MHS and has been coaching the Artesians for 10 years.   He is a former Artesian Offensive Guard from 1981.
