	MHS Wins 7th Straight TV School of the Year Title
	The Martinsville High School Broadcasting program brought home their 7th straight TV School of the Year award from the Indiana Association of School Broadcaster's State Competition on Monday, March 4th at the University of Indianapolis. Broadcasting students captured a total of 11 awards at the annual event that features the top high school television programs from across the state. MHS finished with 7 firsts, 2 seconds, and 2 thirds. The broadcasting program took first in 7 of the 9 categories it entered and won at least one award in all 9. The TV School of the Year award is based on a system where schools earn points for each award they receive at the competition. Schools get 3 points for a first, 2 points for a second and 1 point for a third. MHS scored a total of 27 points to beat out second place Ben Davis.

OTHER PROJECTS

WREP

Students in the Broadcasting Program produce MHS Rewind every two weeks. The show has two parts: an original short film and a newscast focusing on happenings at MHS.

Students also work on a variety of other projects throughout the school year including show opens, commercials, short films, music videos, stop motion and webisodes.

WREP is the MSD of Martinsville's digital low-powered TV station. It broadcasts over the air on channel 15.1 and can be seen on Comcast cable channel 15 in Martinsville.


	The Year Rewound The 1st and 2nd period Advanced Broadcasting class takes a look back at their favorite moments from the school year. Stepsisters Just as you would expect. It's the movie "Stepbrothers" remade with stepsisters instead. Girl Scouts vs. Boy Scouts It's the girl scouts vs. the boys scouts in this competition to raise the most money and win the fabulous prize. Scooby Doo The prom queen is missing and Scooby and the rest of the gang have to find her before it is too late. The Best Christmas Ever Two little kids have to call in the WHAT to help them find out who took Santa and all their presents. The Hobo's Box You may want to watch what you wish for. You may just end up getting what you wished for and a whole lot more. A Day in the Life: Lifeguard Follow a day in the life of two lifeguards who come to Martinsville to save people no matter where they get hurt. Monster House Five little kids decide to ignore the advice of their older siblings and explore the creepy haunted house. Switched Watch what happens when the center on the football team and his super smart girlfriend get "Switched" in this short. Order in the Court The "Cops" go on trail for running an illegal bounty program, but the new DA may be the one who ends up in trouble. Click Jake finds a mysterious remote that lets him control time, but can he figure out how to use it to raise his grade and go to prom? Dodgeball NDA star Bruce Twain leaves his old team to start a new one in this open ripped straight from today's headlines. ESPN Celebrity Pro-Am Watch as Ricky Fowler and John McEnroe battle Greg Norman and Rachel Ray in this celebrity pro-am. The Perfect Fit Sanchez & Sun must find the perfect CEO to sell their revolutionary new product. And, the COPs make an appearance. Superhero Anonymous These "Superheroes" are convinced that their powers are real no matter what anyone tells them. Who Saved Christmas! Two naughty men are trying to steal Christmas and it is up to Sydney Lou Who to save the day. Jesse's Girl Jake wishes he had Jesse's girl in Intro to Broadcasting's first Rewind Open of the school year. Band on the Run "Band on the Run" gets their big break. But, they only have a few hours to get ready to give the performance of their lives. TV Open Watch as the Rewind class does parodies of their favorite types of TV shows like soap operas, talk shows and American Idol. Cops Watch a day in the life of Lt. Danielson and Deputy Jones as they patrol the streets of a subdivision. Shot in "COPS" style. The Beliebers Who is Justin Biebers's real number 1 fan? Find out in this latest webisode edition of MHS Rewind. Prom 2011 An unknown gets nominated for prom court. Watch what she goes through to try to get ready for the big day. Fight 4 Power The most powerful man in the world has lost the source of his power and his lackeys must find who took it. A Behind Bars Documentary This country has some crazy laws, and this mocumentary takes a look at some of the people who have broken them. A Santa Carol Watch the Advanced Broadcasting Class and their new and unique version of A Christmas Carol. The Office Watch the first Rewind of the year from the Intro to Broadcasting Class and see their version of The Office. Disney Gone Wild Disney characters mysteriously appear in the real world. See how they react to their new surroundings in this episode. Halloween 2010 What's causing the creepy happenings at Katie's house? Is it Jake or something else? Find out in this Halloween Rewind. Cinematic Adventures Find out what happens when Emma actually gets her wish to have her life be just like the movies she adores. Pageant Queen Find out who turned Hannah blue and ruined her chance of winning Miss MHS in this new episode. Search for Sasquatch The group finds Sasquatch on the internet and decides to go in search of the always elusive big footed beast. MHS Rewind Halloween The group must find a way to get their creepy unwanted guest back from where she came in this Halloween episode. Artie Boy Artie Boy, the school's biggest fan, must find the missing well before the school replaces it with a new mascot. King Wagner's Sword Someone has stolen Mr. Wagner's sword and Inspector Clouseau must find it to prove he is the real king. Making of Making a Rewind The class has a little trouble agreeing on a topic for their next show. See some of the ideas they come up with. The Story of Santa Clause Several popular characters from Christmas movies make appearances in MHS Rewind's annual Christmas short. What Are You Thinking Find out what happens when Austin gets hit on the head and begins to hear what other people really think. Scooby Doo Scooby and the rest of the gang try to figure out who stole the Rewind equipment from the storage room and why. Case Closed Detectives must find out what happened to a young lady in this original MHS Rewind mystery done in the style of CSI. Celebrity Panic Room See what happens as six celebrities are kidnapped and then locked inside a panic room for several days. TV Open The MHS Rewind crew recreates some of their favorite moments from movies, commercials and the internet. Year Rewound The advanced broadcasting class takes a look back at their year in MHS Rewind in the final episode of the year.
