WREP is a digital low-powered television station in Martinsville,
Indiana that is owned and operated by the Metropolitan School District
of Martinsville. WREP is in the Indianapolis Designated Market
Area. It operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and reaches
nearly 20,000 homes in and around Morgan County. WREP can be
picked up over the air on digital channel 15.1, and it is
also carried on the Comcast cable systems in Morgan County
on Channel 15 as well.
WREP has complete game coverage of Martinsville High School football,
boys and girls basketball, baseball and softball on a tape delayed
basis. WREP also has weekly coaches’ shows for football and boys
basketball.
WREP is an affiliate of the America One network which carries prime
time sports programming such as live CFL Football games, English Premier
League Soccer, Rugby, Auto Racing, Boxing and quality children’s
programming such as Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures. WREP-15 also
carries the Local Weather Station, a service provided by WISH-TV out of
Indianapolis, and Total Info News, Weather, Sports, Entertainment and
Traffic.
In additional to its main channel 15.1, WREP also has 3 digital
sub-channels 15.2, 15.3 and 15.4. 15.2 will become an all sports
channel in the near future replaying Martinsville High School sporting
events both past and present. 15.3 will become a community
calendar of events and local news, and 15.4 will continue to broadcast
America One programming 24/7.
WREP has been a
part of the award winning broadcasting program at Martinsville High
School since 1999. Martinsville High School captured the TV School of
the Year at the annual Indiana Association of School Broadcaster’s State
Competition in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Students in the
broadcasting program at MHS produce the local events broadcast on WREP
and also produce the award winning school newscast MHS Rewind, which is
shown to the students and staff at MHS every two weeks. MHS Rewind won
the prestigious school newscast of the year at the Indiana Association
of School Broadcaster's State Competition in 2005 and 2008. Students in the broadcasting program at MHS also produce many
other projects throughout the school year including music videos,
commercials and short films. Those projects earned 2 first place
awards at the 2009 IASB state competition, 4 first place
awards in 2008, 3 first place awards in 2007 and 4 first place awards in 2006.
The broadcasting
program is supported by ad revenue generated by WREP. Your support of
