Student Council Election Rules

1. Students may hang a total of five signs in the hallways beginning on Wednesday, October 24, 2007.  The signs MAY NOT be hung in the bathrooms, classrooms, or stairways.  You may make signs from 8 1/2 X 11-inch paper, construction paper, or on poster boards.  The signs MAY NOT be made into a banner.
2. Students MAY NOT hand out candy, gifts, or fliers.
3. Permission slips MUST be returned to Ms. Green or Mr. Cox by Wednesday, October 24, 2007 by 9:30 a.m.  If the slip is not returned by then, you will not be able to run for an office.  Reminder:  Students running for elected offices MUST not have a grade lower than a C on their report card.
4. Speeches will be given on Thursday, November 1, 2007.  The speeches should last no longer than two minutes.  Students will be giving their speeches to the third, fourth, and fifth grade classes at Paragon Elementary School on the closed-circuit television.  The officers will be announced on Friday, November 2, 2007.
