Social Studies Research Project
Beginning April 1, 2008, you will begin an extensive research project. The topic is to be about any famous person from our Social Studies book. Only one famous person, per student, and no one may research the same person. This means we will have 24 different projects. This project will be due May 15, 2008. On May 15, you must turn in your research paper and give a 2-3 minute oral presentation dressed as your famous person.
The research project should be no loess than 3 1/2 - 4 pages long, double spaced and typed. Your paper needs to be turned in this manner:
Title Page
Researched Information - 1 1/2 - 2 pages
Bibliography Page - 1 page
Due Dates:
April 11 - Name of your famous person
April 18 - Must show at least 3 sources of information -- books, internet, magazines, encyclopedias, etc. -- ALL of your sourcesCANNOT be from the internet
April 28 - Must have at least 15 index cards showing notes from your resources
May 5 - Written rough draft must be turned in
May 15 - Typed and finished presentation
You will receive grades for each due date. Make sure you turn in something on all of those dates. This project is worth over 500 points.
