Yearbooks Paragon Elementary yearbook order forms were sent home with students last week. The price of yearbooks this year is $14/each or two for $25. The deadline for all orders is Wednesday, February 13.
Meningococcal Disease Indiana State Law IC 20-30-5-18, July 1, 2005, requires that schools inform parents/guardians, and students of the causes, symptoms, and spread of meningococcal/meningitis disease. Following is information regarding this disease: Causes - usually from a viral or bacterial infection; Symptoms - high fever, headache, stiff neck, rash with some types, nausea, vomiting, discomfort looking into bright lights, confusion, sleepiness; Spread of disease - some form of bacterial meningitis are contagious through the exchange of respiratory and throat secretions (i.e., coughing and sneezing). Fortunately, none of the bacteria that cause meningitis are as contagious as conditions like the common cold or flu, and they are not spread by casual contact or by simply breathing the air where a person with meningitis has been. Immunizations are available for some causes of meningitis. Additional information can be obtained from your health care provider or the health department. |

Give Kids a Smile On February 1, the Indiana Dental Association will host the 6th Annual Give Kids a Smile Day. To participate in Give Kids a Smile, the child must meet the following requirements:

Spelling Bee The Paragon Elementary Spelling Bee for Grades 4 and 5 will be held on Monday, January 28 at 2:15 p.m. There will be two representatives from each classroom. The winner will compete in a Regional Spelling Bee.
Character Counts The following students have been honored with Character Counts Youth Recognition Awards for the months of November and December: Caleb Andersen, Trenton Cherry, Marina Cornett, Sarah Estep, Jacob Ferguson, Alexus Hopkins, and Ethan Runyan.
Attendance Trophy Congratulations to Miss Green's Room 8 for winning the attendance trophy for the 2nd Nine Weeks. They also won the 1st Nine Weeks!!! They were awarded with a pizza party. Great job students!!!
