All About Poston Road Elementary

An Overview
Poston Road Elementary School is a school for students in kindergarten through grade 5. Poston Road Elementary's mission is to provides a supportive, educational environment in which each child is encouraged to reach his/her own personal best academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Parents and community work together to enable our children to develop their own unique potential and to become self-directed, independent members of society.

Through active learning techniques that include critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills, students will be prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities of a changing society.

A Proud History
Poston Road was originally built in 1957. In 1962, twelve classrooms, a library, kitchen, and multipurpose room were added.

Since 1994 the enrollment has held relatively steady near 425 students. We are a kindergarten through grade five building.

Poston Road Elementary School is located on eleven acres of land at the south edge of the city of Martinsville. Poston Road is one of eight elementary schools in the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville, Indiana.

What's for Lunch?
Hot lunches are served daily at Poston Road Elementary. Lunches are $10.00 per week, payable each Monday morning. Students may also pay for an entire month at one time. Daily lunches are $2.00. Students may bring their own lunch and purchase milk in the cafeteria for $.40. Breakfast is $1.50 for adults and $1.25 for children. Adults my purchase lunches for $2.75.
