WEST SUCCESS PROGRAM 2006

The West Success plan, which is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 27, 2006, the first day of the third trimester, is for all West Middle School students to meet at the beginning of every school day in their assigned room with their West Success (Homeroom) teacher for a short period.

The goals of the West Success Program are for students to arrive to school every day with their homework completed and ready to turn in and for students to improve the quality of the homework that they do. The West Success Program is also designed to enhance the students progress in the classroom and the student’s opportunity to score higher on the 2006 ISTEP test.

Every day the Homeroom/Success Teacher will check all of the students’ homework, using the Success Teacher Assignment Sheet.

Every day students should bring with them to Homeroom/West Success Period the following items: a pen and/or pencil, their completed homework, their blue homework folder, an Accelerated Reader book, and other study materials.

If a student is absent, then it is that student’s responsibility to connect and follow up with the classroom teacher about missed assignments and to turn in those missed assignments in a timely fashion. Missing assignments are going to be managed primarily on a daily basis.
