Life Management

Life Management is a six week course during the year for all sixth, seventh and eighth grade students.  During the six weeks, students do several hands-on projects and various activities.

Sixth grade: 

  • Will learn basic sewing skills by sewing a pillow and stuffed football.

  • Will learn basic cooking skills and prepare a simple recipe.

Seventh grade:         

  • Will explore several Family & Consumer Science areas through modules and

  • May choose to make a sewing project.

Eighth grade: 

  • Will explore several Family & Consumer Science areas through modules

  • May choose to make a sewing project.

Materials Expected for Class

Students are expected to bring paper and pen/pencil to class.  If a student chooses to sew the student must pay the cost of the chosen project.

Classroom Expectations

1.     Students will not have gum, food or drinks in the classroom.

 

2.     Students will have line notebook paper and pen/pencil in class every day.

 

3.     Students will work quietly in assigned area at all times and be responsible for leaving their work area clean and neat.

 

4.     Students will show respect to teachers, other students and visitors at all times.

Life Management Class is taught by Mrs. Nancy Battaglia with 32 years teaching experience, all at West Middle School, and Mrs. Pam Kidwell with 31 years teaching experience, 29 years at West Middle School.
