PARTICIPATION: You are expected to participate in all of the activities.

If you are sick or injured, you must bring a note from your parents stating what the problem is. If it is something that will probably keep you from being active for more than three days, you will need a DOCTOR'S excuse.

No participation means a failing grade.

Girls' Physical Education Class:
If a student cannot participate because of injury, sickness, absence, etc., "participation points" will not be given to that student.  In order to make up points, work must be done in the form of a written report.  Report topics include, but are not limited to:  President's Council on Physical Fitness, Women Athletes, Olympic Events, Fitness topics, Fitness Equipment, Fitness Videos, History of Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, or Soccer, History of Glenn Curtis Memorial Gymnasium, John Wooden, etc.  The report should not be based only on opinion.  It should be a researched topic that requires the student to investigate and learn something new.

Reports can be written or typed.  Resources (which may include magazines, newspapers, books, encyclopedias, or web site addresses) used to find the information should be listed in the report.  Reports are to be neatly done. Punctuation, spelling, and grammar will all be taken into consideration when grading the reports.

Any student can do any number of reports during the grading period.  These reports can count as Make-up work or as extra credit for additional points to be added to her regular trimester grade.
