Technology
Technology is a constantly changing field and we must change with it. The “Tech Design” classroom has undergone a great deal change this year as well.
Sixth
Grades
are learning the keyboarding through “good old” typing practice and through
video games. They have an assortment of games to choose from. The most popular
one is called “Crazy
Keys.” This
game requires they type the alphabet as quickly as possible. The fastest any
student, in my class, has done this so far is 3.7 seconds. The top record is 2.6
seconds. These games may be found at
www.freetypinggame.net Seventh and Eighth Grades rotate between Blue days and White days. Whatever the color of the day is determines what they do that day. They may be learning the computer; through keyboarding and they maybe experiencing the thrills of flying with the Flight Simulator. We have 8 Modules in which the students learn from: Introduction to Technology, Animation, CAD (Computer Aided Drafting), Electronics, Fiber Optics and Lasers, Flight Simulation, Radio, and Auto Exploration. Every student is
required to complete the Introduction to Technology Module before they can move
on to any of the other seven modules. Classroom Expectations 1. Book bags are to be left in your locker during Technology Class. 2. Students will not have gum, candy or drinks in the computer lab. 3. Students will work quietly in their assigned area at all times. 4. Students are responsible for leaving their assigned work area clean and neat. 5. Students will show respect to teachers, other students, and visitors at all times. 6. Students will be in their assigned seat when the bell rings. |
